Description
The Classic is where the collection starts: a 40 mm steel case, a clean silver-white sunray dial, and a self-winding movement you can watch through the back. Nothing on it is decorative for its own sake – slim baton markers, dauphine hands, and a dial with no date to break the symmetry. On the wrist it reads as a watch that cost more than it did.

How it wears
- Wind it fully by hand before first wear, then let the rotor do the rest
- Set the time with the crown pulled to position two, push home before wearing
- It wears slightly large on a thin wrist – check the 40 mm case against a watch you own
Care
- Wipe the case and glass with the supplied cloth after wear
- Keep the leather strap dry and away from prolonged sunlight
- A movement service every three to four years keeps it accurate
To keep in mind
- Do not swim or bathe with a 3 ATM watch
- Keep it away from strong magnets such as speakers, tablets and MRI equipment
- Never operate the crown while the watch is wet

My first automatic, chosen because the dial is just markers and hands – nothing to misread. It has run within a few seconds a day all month, and the sunray finish on the dial is far nicer in person than on a screen. The strap was soft out of the box.
